DanceRite Triumphs at the Blackpool Grand Finals
The enchanting Empress Ballroom in Blackpool recently witnessed a spectacular display of talent and artistry as the annual Grand Finals of the dance competition unfolded. For our dance school, this event is not just another competition—it’s the culmination of a year’s hard work and dedication. We took our pupils to this prestigious event, and it turned out to be an unforgettable weekend full of glitz, glamour, and success.
Barbie party
The Saturday party was a unique spectacle, with a theme that transported everyone back to their childhoods. The dress code? Barbie! Our pupils embraced the Barbie-themed dress-up event with enthusiasm, donning pink wigs and sunglasses, AKA The bobbed Barbies. The event featured life-sized Barbie boxes, creating a playful atmosphere and offering perfect photo opportunities for our young dancers. To add to the charm, a look-alike Barbie and Ken entertained the crowd, capturing the essence of this iconic doll-couple.
It wasn’t just about dressing up and looking the part; it was about dancing. DanceRite, rose to the challenge. The competition was fierce, with dancers from all over the country displaying their skill and creativity on the dance floor. Yet, our pupils shone bright amidst the sea of talent.
Competition day
Sunday was a day filled with emotions, as the Empress Ballroom resonated with cheers and applause from the audience. It was heartwarming to see the camaraderie among the students, teachers, and parents in the school. Everyone came together to support and cheer on the dancers as they gave their best performances.
Several of our pupils reached their respective finals. It’s a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the guidance they received from Fredric & Vicki. The excitement was palpable as they took to the dance floor, competing against some of the best dancers in the country. The moment was particularly poignant for Kelsi, who secured the top spot in her category. Tears of joy and accomplishment flowed as she received her well-deserved trophy. It was a moment of triumph and a memory to cherish for a lifetime.
Bernice, a first-time participant, made her finals debut. Her journey to this stage was a dream come true, and the joy on her face was infectious. She embodied the spirit of our dance school—where dreams become reality. Yasmin also made her first-ever final and outshone her competitors with her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. Yasmin has only recently teamed up with Alex, they also made their couple’s debut. They were thrilled to achieve a place in the final.
Other outstanding contestants from DanceRite included Rachel, Olga, Hayley, and Adrian, all of whom gave their best and left a lasting impression on the judges and the audience. Their hard work and determination were evident, and their presence at the Grand Finals was an achievement in itself.
